Comments Welcome on Jet JTAS-10 Please
I am thinking of getting my first table saw. The things important to me are:
Left tilt
Accurate Fence and table
Dust Collection
Dust collection is important enough that I am not really considering a contractor saw.
I think that the Jet looks like the right saw for the money and I wondered how you folks feel about it.
Also in five or six years I may want to transport it from California to Oregon or Washington State when I retire.
Thanks!

I've had mine for a few years and have no major complaints and it's required no service. The blade to mitre slot parallelism was spot-on out of the box and has stayed that way, as have the 0* and 90* bevel stops. I find this somewhat surprising since I move it around often on a Vega Machine Mover mobile base. Assembly consisted of attaching the cast iron extensions which took a wee bit of shim stock to get them dead level. The laminate extension table and fence installation were quick and painless. I did have to dress the face of the UHMD PE fence face since it had a slight bump to it, but a couple of passes with a razor sharp #7 took care of it. The fence cursor had washers under it that increased parallax so I took them out which put the cursor closer to the scale. Dust collection is reasonably good, but a TS blade will throw some dust no matter what. The mitre gauge and the blade guard I rec'd were both POS's as is pretty much the case with most brands. Besides the mobile base, I have added an Excaliber overarm blade guard w/ DC, a Biesmeyer quick change splitter, a Woodhaven FastTrack Mitre gauge and the Jet outfeed roller table. By the way count on buying a couple of good blades to get the most out of a table saw. I have Systematic combo, FS Tools rip and CMT Dado blades. Go for it.

We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

Wow, that was sure a big help! I will look into the add-ons and blades as well asap.
Thanks!
You might want to take a look at "Dizzy's Shop" -- he has a full spread on his JTAS-10. Yum!
