comparison of grizzly and jet mid range lathes
I am considering a lathe and am comparing the Jet 14″x42″ to the comparable grizzly tool. I own both brands, other various tools, and both brands seem to work fine.
I would enjoy listening to the comparisons of the lathes from those that have purchased and used them.
Thanks

I assume you are talking about the Grizz G0632 lathe, correct me if I'm wrong.
Just by looking at the specs, I would go with the Grizzly:
It has a true low speed of 100rpm, the Jet only goes down to 450rpm. When dealing with large, heavy, out of round stock, the slower the better at the beginning.
It is 16X42, so you can turn bigger stock.
Both are variable speed and have swivel heads, so that's a push.
Prices are about the same (Grizz is on sale now.)
I don't have any personal experience with Grizzly lathes, but my 8" jointer from them has been stellar. I do have a Jet mini-lathe, and it is OK.
