Just got a new PC 12″ Compond miter saw. By all accounts a nice machine.
But here’s my question…Does anyone have a good method for aligning the fence?
I adjusted it to 90° and it lines up with my machinist square nicely, but when I do the old 45° test ( essentially making a very small picture frame set up out of wide stock to test all the miters close up ) it’s a little off.
Further testing by adjusting the swing of the blade leads me to believe that the fence is about 1/4 of a degree out.
If anyone knows any great tricks, I’d love to hear about them.
Thanks,
Kelley Hamby

So would I. I just set it with a drafting triangle and do test cuts until it's spot on. Not that your's is, but I've heard of slightly warped fences that make the basic adjustment impossible.
