Good-day all. My comrades and myself got into a conversation about compound miter saws. Well before you know it everyone has opinion on this subject. So I though to be fair to all at work and try to end this on going debate I would ask all you knowledgeable gentlemen which do you think is best.I have a Dewatt sliding compound miter saw model# DW708. Thanks to all again.

Do you like it? Does it get the job done?
I've owned quite a few different models as they became available over the years. Started with a Stanley hand miter saw and box. Next was a Rockwell 9" chop, a Delta sawbuck, a Craftsman compound slide, which was the first slide style without chopping action. 8" Hitachi, 10" Hitachi and now I own a Bosch 3915 slider. The needle bearing at the end of the drive shaft went bad, I replaced it and other bearings a couple of weeks ago. I can see it won't last too long. I wish Dewalt made a 10" so I could use the many blades I already own. None of these expensive tools have lasted very long. I'm trying to decide before parting with my next $500 whether to go with Dewalt and new blades or the Makita. I've been borrowing a 12" Dewalt slider and I have liked it so far.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
I love it when I buy something really expensive and it proves to be worth every penny. That has been my experience with the Makita LS1013 (250mm, chop and slide). I tuned the table quite carefully when I got it and four years later the fixed slots are still absolutely accurate. The only problem I have is the way it sometimes fires a short offcut at me from a left hand mitre. This has been resolved on the later model but I can't afford the upgrade!
Regards
Afraid I don't understand your question.........
Are you fer em or agin em?
