I recently saw an ad for the Craftsman “CompuCarve”.
I would like some feedback from folks who have one. I would like to know it’s good AND bad qualities. Is there better machine like this out there in the same price range?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Given the current lack of quality in everything else they sell; I would look at every other alternative to Sears. I don't even go in the door since my planer fell apart. I replaced my router and table with Porter-Cable equipment. Remember that you get what you pay for.

They have a forum on the carving machine. Craftsman doesn't make the machine.
Do a more proactive search. Go to the source rather than waiting for answers. I stopped asking questions 10 years ago and just looked up the answers I needed. There's no new questions only new people asking old questions. There's at least 100 woodworking forums out there so you can imagine how much information is redundant.

"I stopped asking questions 10 years ago"
Yeah, me too. "Why bother?," I figured, "I know everything, anyway!" ;)

I just know where to find the answers so why should I bother asking questions. I've already got a tech support staff for everything from electrical, finishing, computers, etc. Plus I get a stack of free trade magazines on wood, metalworking, etc so I get to see most products before they are even out

I also saw the ad for Craftsman compucarve. I thought it was very cool. And a low risk way to get to know CNC type products. Yes. I know $1800 is not really low risk. but compared to $7000 for a shopbot, I think it is low risk.
Anyway, Carve-Wright makes the product. You can Google them and see their product is the one they make for Sears, Craftsman.
I have not purchased one, but I would also be interested to hear feedback from anyone that does own one.
PS-- Craftsman is a brand, not a manufactucturer.
Thank you,
Cheatah
