Computerized enlargements of scale dr…

I am looking for an alternative to taking scale drawings out of a book and having them enlarged through the photocopying process. I just had plans for a Queen Anne Side Chair enlarged and spent close to $100.
Has anyone explored the option of scanning the scale drawings into the computer and then using a program to do the enlargement process and printing the full scale plans on a plotter? I would much rather take the one-time hit of buying an application program and a plotter than the $100+ per piece.
Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated!

TurboCAD Standard and Pro versions both support a trace function that will get your graphic into CAD where it can be modified, re-scaled and/or otherwise embellished. Go to their site with this link.
*Cheap alternative:Use Printmaster (a $30 program)Scan in the planCreate a large poster with the plan at the proper scaleWhen you print it will come out with the plan spread across as many sheets as needed to print the poster size you selectedTape the pages together carefullyWalla - instant blown up planPersonally, I use AutoCAD and a plotter but I do a lot and the setup cost a few grand, but it supports my business.
