Jon's FWW articles have appeared pretty regularly going back to at least issue #25 in 1980. Is that about right, Jon? Fortunately for us, he also enjoys sharing his knowlege on this forum. I just re-read a 1986 article on Mahogany this morning.
Jon is a true renaissance man. Every generation is endowed with a few such people. I consider it an honor that he is willing to devote his time and effort on Knots to educate another generation of woodworkers. As I have said elsewhere, the trick to learning is to study well from those who are knowledgeable and to be able to recognize those gifted people in advance.
No, Ian, you're too kind. I'm not that young. My first article for FWW was a little one pager on homemade milk paint that appeared in the March/April 1979 issue (#15)...I hadn't thought about it, but I guess if I make it through the end of this month, it will be sort of a milestone. 25 years.
Haven't received the latest issue yet, so I haven't seen this Cherry article in final form...Wonder if it made it through without edits? Hope springs eternal. That, too, would be a milestone. :O)
Jon
Haven't recieved FWW yet nor did I know you had an article in this coming edition. I am looking forward to reading it.
Now I know that you have managed to disquise the word "liberal" somewhere if they didn't edit it. Maybe a "liberal arts" or "liberal amount of", but I feel sure that it was the original draft you sent to Taunton. Aye..... ha.. ha...
Congratulations....

It's a great article Jon, wonderful job as always. Think Drudge will pull down Kerry?

Why can't you Michiganers elect a conservative Senator? Aren't y'all tired of Comrade Levin? Even Sarge's state threw out a Dem Senator with the last election. C'mon, clean up America... vote out a Liberal!!!

Rob
Yes Rob, Levin is an embarrassment. You'd have to go all ther way to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to find a worse Liberal. We even have a Liberal Governor...but she's so good to look at it's worth the punishment.

Jon,
I was a really fine article...made me feel sorry for the poor little cherry tree. I went down stairs and look at my small pile....it started life in a pile of crap....and is now a crappy end table....will the insults never end....
That's the point BG, the poor thing has suffered all its life...only to fall into the hands of a crappy cabinetmaker...not even Rodney Dangerfield has worse luck. :O)
