Ah, yes, dust collection for a sliding miter saw -- common discussion on boards like these. Even the best systems don't work very well, and aren't portable. The consensus seems to be to surround the rear of the saw with a big hood -- sheet metal, plywood, fabric, whatever --- and hook a chip collector to it. Even with a high-cfm collector, some dust still escapes.
