Hello.
My brother needs some new wood panels for the interior of his ’52 Chevy wagon, we are using 1/4″ masonite panels with wood on wood 10 mil venere applied to it. Any tips on working with contact cement? We have 4 – 4×8 sheets to glue and cut out patterns.
Responses are great here,
Kurt

Kurt, Use the non water based contact cement. (™Weldwood)
If you can get it,
use ™ Barge Cement and after trial dry fitting,
scuff up the back with a stiff wire brush
and remove any masonite dust. Apply cement to
both cleaned and scuffed contact areas.
Let cement dry 'til just'non-tacky'.
Carefully align the panel segments, and
press into place.
Once in place, Use a clean rounded edged wood block
and strike the block aross the panel
with a rubber hammer.
Good Luck Steinmetz.
