I need to replace a cheap coping saaw and would like to buy one that will hold up to the rigors of cutting dovetails and coping joints. Where can you get a good quality saw for this? Thanks for your help.

My solution to that problem about six years was Millers Falls on ebay. Search "Millers Falls" in the Collectible tools area. $10-$20, 1940s, 1950s vintage. Made better back then. Good luck.

Coping Saw
Thanks I did find my way to tools for working wood.
coping saw
Stanley has a decent Fat Max version that Chris Schwartz sings the praises of but he warns that you need to check the locking mechanism because some are made less than well. I haven't tried one out and am stillusing one I think I bought from Tools for Working Wood

Neil,
Thanks I'll check it out.
Olsen coping saw available from Tools for Working Wood
PJ:
I have a Craftsman coping saw which is identical to the Olsen coping saw sold by Tools for Working Wood or Highland Woodworking (highlandwoodworking.com). As coping saws go, it is the best available at the present time. While you are on the Tools for Working Wood website checkout the Grammercy Bow Saw. If $150 is out of your range, they offer free plans and you can buy just the pins and blades. Think of the bow saw as a coping saw on steroids.
