I am new to SketchUp and using the FW guide for woodworkers The Basics. I am having trouble with moving components. When I copy the left stile over to the right, only 2 faces move, the front and top, when I go to edit the component I find I am missing the back and lower faces. Where am I going wrong?

Without seeing your SketchUp model it is difficult to say for sure but it sounds like you've either missed making a component of the all of the geometry that makes up the stile or you are opening the component for editing before selecting and copying the geometry.
