I have always heard that if you lay a car battery on a concrete floor that you will ruin the battery. Not sure why this is but I have ruined a few car batteries by doing this. So here is my question does the same apply to cordless tools. I make it a point to never lay my stuff on the shop floor.by placing it in a area so there while be no chance of it touching the concrete. Is this just foolishness on my part or is there some merit to it?

now that car batteries have plastic cases instead of tar you cant ruin them on a concerte floor so cordless tools should be ok.
Click 'n Clack had a great laugh over this theory a couple weeks ago.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Why did they laugh; I think the theory is quite sound! Just a bit ago I nearly ruined one cordless tool by laying it on a concrete floor (from a height of about 5 feet:-). I now have a strip of padded carpet in that area.
