how well does cornerbead hold up when installed using the crimper rather than screws? In some situations the screws dont hit the stud or nailer so i purchased a crimper but i’m kind of hesitant about using it in place of screws without feedback on this tool

Works very well. Make sure you use a rubber mallet. A sharp hard rap works best.
Practice some and it's easy to master.

I personally suck at using a crimper. That's just me.
Those who I've seen use them can apply corner bead with better results (straighter & less bubbles) using the crimper than anyone using nails/screws.
So I would advise that it is a worthy investment.
