This is probably a stupid question and I’m not sure I can state it clearly, but here goes.
I’m making a raised panel box of Ash for my niece. I’ve coved the inside of the rails and stiles and plan to join the pieces with M&T. I’m assuming I’ll need to put 45 degree angles in the cove with a chisel where the M&T come together and chop away that portion of the cove on the stile where it meet the rail. Is this assumption correct? is it the only way…by hand with a chisel? thanks

BG, you should use the technique as described in this link-- the long and short shouldered tenon with mitreing for where the mouldings intersect.
You can make a wee mitre jig for assistance to trim the mitres to fit. Slainte.

Ahhh...a jig, that'll help. Accurate markings on the slope of the cove will be less of a concern. thanks
I realized, after I posted, there is a complimentary router bit that is often used.
