Craftsman 113.27970 extension wing mounting holes
This is a 50’s era saw that I just received as a gift, and I like it a lot. Doesn’t have ext wings, though, and, unlike most tables, the mounting holes on t his saw are closer to the bottom than to the top. I have wings that fit most other Craftsman saws, but their holes are in the middle so that, when mounted to this saw, the wing is 1/2″ lower than the table. I can add some kind of 1/2″ stock, and that will make it very close to even, but I would like extensions that actually fit. Also, if I do that I’m not sure if the fence will grip properly. All other vintage Craftsman saws that I have seen have had the holes in the middle of the table. I’ve seen photos here of the 113.27940 saw that has the mounting holes in the middle. I’m wondering why this particular saw is set up this way? If anyone knows, or has an opinion, I would appreciate your sharing that.

I would think that if you have a drill make new holes and tap them to accept bolts where you need them. If you don't have any taps then use bolts and nuts.
