I was at Sears this weekend, and noticed that they have a new (to me, at least) 14″ bandsaw, model #22401. It’s got an 8″ resaw capacity, steel frame construction (Euro style), 1 HP motor, a big 20-3/8″ x 15-3/4″ table, 2 speeds, and cast iron wheels.

1. Has anyone had any experience with this bandsaw? Sears seems to have turned around their power tools reputation a bit with their tablesaws, and I’m kind of hoping that this will extend to their bandsaws.

2. One thing I noticed is that the table only tilts to one side. It has a 0-45 tilt range to the left only, as opposed to many Delta-type 14″ bandsaws that tilt a little to the right as well. Is this a real issue?
