If you bypass the switch and it runs then its the switch. Sometimes you can disassemble a switch- find and fix the problem reassemble and everything is fine, sometimes you end up with a handful of junk!
I'd blow it out with a compressor, especially the switch housing. I'm not sure who actually made your router. But a couple of makers had the same problem you describe from dust in the switch.
I might add ...yes at first you try blowing out the dust, I will usually try spraying contact cleaner in there as best I can. Surgery comes after all that fails. A friend of mine and I used to joke how you can have a tool for 20 years before the switch fails. You replace the switch and then have to replace the new switch every year from then on! I've bought used tools off of ebay to get a switch for tools that I couldnt find a replacement for. Sometimes the tool that I bought was in better shape than the one I had. Sometimes it's time to drop the tool in the garbage can and get a new one.
Where do you get parts off of this machine btw?
Thank you everyone for you info I'm going to try it this weekend and see what happens!! What's crazy is I only used it a handful of times for basic rounders nothing that would have stressed it out
