The project I am working on requires 3 rows of beading (or half round) to follow the contour of an arch on the face. The piece of wood is relatively small (4″ x 2.5″) – so to be proportional, each bead string also has to be very small. How would you recommend creating the parallel strings?

For the small size you outline, I would either carve the beads or use a scratch stock. A drawing for a shop made scratch stock is attached. I also cover the making of beads on turning in some depth in the tread "Longitudinal Tapered Beading." There are attached photos showing a cutter for cutting beads. A router table could be rigged to do this job with this cutter which I obtained from Eagle America. I cover the use of a scratch stock in the thread "What Tool for Making Stringing Groove?"

Thank you - I will give the stratch stock a try.
