This is an unsual way to stack firewood. I saw this picture within a slideshow I received from a friend (not related to wood though, neither the friend or the slideshow).
Isn’t that nice, and quite a change from the traditional way to stack firewood?
The artistic individual who stacked the firewood surely likes wood. Can you see a little bit of sadness in this picture? It’s like someone wanted to see the tree live even after being chopped into firewood.
Kind of a shame to pull from that pile!

Serge,
Well now if that isn't the soul of a tree I don't know what is. I think Mr. Nakashima would be proud of whoever stacked this wood.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bob,
That Mr. Nakashima, he is the one who wrote the book - Carry water and chop wood?

"Carry water and chop wood" comes from Buddhist monk teachings or thought; maybe Nakashima refers to it in his book (don't know havn't read it), but I'm sure he didn't coin it. Brian
