A friend has put up crown moulding in his house and wants to end it at an outside corner.
Is there a standard way of doing this?
Thanks,

It is called a return. And you miter the piece as if to turn the corner but the piece will be short so that when you place the return, the small mitered piece, on the end, the top of the moulding will be flush, or nearley flush, with the outside corner of the wall or whatever your stopping point is.
It is much easier to do than to describe in words.
I hope this helps.

Thank you. You provided enough words to understand.
