I’m looking to buy a new 1/4 inch crown stapler for my shop. Not heavy duty but not sissy either. Any recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.
Mahalo (thank you)

I use a Senco SKS. Pretty basic but sets the staples well in any material. Been using it for over 10 years, never had a problem.

Porter Cable or Senco

The difference between the low end and high end is a bit. Depends on your budget and desire.
you mentioned something middle of the road, for 1/4" crown. I own a Senco SKS because I like the no oil design and jam clearing rocks (as rare as that is).
Additionally, it takes 3 staple sizes which you can see on their website, in addition to the 1/4"
Very well built, and they last forever. Can't go wrong. Runs about $240 @ Amazon.

Edit: re-read my post and noticed that it sounds like there is 4 staple options, there are 3 size options, of which 1/4" is one.

From what I have heard, the Senco SKS is the best stapler available -- in terms of its ability to shoot staples into hard dense material. But this capability comes at a relatively high price.
For half that amount you can get a PC stapler that will do just about anything most cabinet makers will ask of it.

I have the P-C 1 1/2" capacity stapler. Just sided my house with it - some 10,600 linear feet of T & G knotty pine, all stapled on with 1 1/2" staples. Over 15,000 staples. That stapler worked flawlessly. I lost one nose cushion. I can't say enough good about it. About $120. To me there's no need to buy a more expensive tool. It is made in Taiwan, and though I try to buy American, it isn't always feasible.
Good luck.
