I have been looking at hinge specs, and need some advice. We have wood face-framed cabinets, 1-1/2″ x 3/4″ front frames, cab boxes with 1/2″ plywood sides, and we build the faceframes to be about 1/8″ proud on the sides. Our design is for inset doors. Can someone recommend one of the euro cup hinges with base that is right for this application, AND offers more than just up and down adjustment?

Sorry that I'm not answering your question directly; however, I would caution you about multiple adjustment hinges. I've installed cabinets with 3-way adjustable hinges (up-down,in-out,left-right) and I'm not sure that I would use these again. The problem is that over time, the left-right adjustment 'sags' and needs to be readjusted. I've considered some slow epoxy on the adjustment mechanism to get around this creep. Does anyone else with more experience with these hinges have a recommendation on stabilizing the left-right adjustment?
I guess if I had to, it would be Blum. As the other post said, they do go to hell over time, and it doesn't take long. I know I'm done using them or any euro hinge unless I absolutely have to. I think they're all junk.
Hi GeneDavis Ive been making cabinets for 20 yrs, and there are two euro hinge brands I would recomend my first choice is SALICE Ive used them a lot over the years without any problems, Blum is my second choice, they make a nice inset hinge were the mounting plate is attached to the back of the frame. if i remember , il get the cat number , at my shop tomorrow. good luck
Thanks, Woodshaver. I am now enlightened. I went and looked more closely at some hinge specs and can see clearly how the adjustment features are included in hinge (side to side and in/out) and base (up and down.) I was confused and was looking only at the Blum base which specified up and down only. I thought up/down was all I was going to get. By using Blum's base that screws to the inside face of face frame, and any of the HO clip-on hinges, I can get all the adjustment I need for my inset door application. Does it seem to you, as it does to me, when looking at Euro hinge specs and models, that Blum is the only one with the inside-frame clip base?
Hi Gene yes, blum is the only euro hinge maker to make a behind the frame mounting plate. blum is a great hinge and I find , for inset doors , were a conceald hinge is needed this is the way to go. good luck.
