I’m looking for the wax-based paint used on freshly cut logs (walnut) to keep the ends from checking while curing. Can anyone help me? doc

$16 for a gallon. I have used only half a gallon for about 30 logs so far.
I have also heard use of latex paint on the ends will slow drying but have not used it myself.

Anchor Seal is one product, I use acrylic latex paint myself.

I have used PEG with sucess. Don't remember where I got it but Rockler has it. Latex paint works well and with a few different colors you can keep track of what lumber comes from different logs for easy bookmatching later on.
