Hi Gentlemans! I’m looking to buy a bandsaw and I would like to know if there is a big difference to make curves between 1/4 ” and 3/8 ” blades? I want to do resawing and curves, bigger bandsaws have bigger motor but start often with 3/8″ blades, there is anyone have an opinion for this?
Thank you.

Peter, let me suggest you purchase either "The Bandsaw Book" or "Bandsaw Handbook". One is by Bird, the other by Duginske. Either will be valuable in helping you purchase your saw and either will answer your questions about types and sizes of blades. There is no such thing as a "general purpose" BS blade. They are all specific to a job if you want to get the most out of your saw.
These books will show you how to setup and tune your saw as well as how to get the most out of it.
Thank you for your suggestion Howie, I'll try to get these bandsaw books at my local bookshop, probably I'll see informations that I don't thought or saw before.

There are charts put out by blade manufacturers and various books on bandsaws that show the radiuses that can be cut with different width blades. I'm not sure what you call a big bandsaw but we have a 36" Tannewitz that will take blades as small as a 1/4". A lot of it has to do with the guides. Check out Duginske's book as a good bandsaw handbook before you make your purchase. A good book should be the first tool to buy.
