There is a lot of dissatisfaction generally with the state of customer service. Horror stories abound. But there are still folks who believe in it.
I recently bought, through Amazon, one of the INCRA router table fence systems. I am quite pleased with it. Unfortunately there was a slight defect on the high fence portion. So call me picky. I emailed them a photo with the machinist’s straight edge, feeler gage and so on.
20 minutes later I had a reply! They were going to send me a replacement today, but needed my addy. So I phoned with the information and told her that I was impressed with the speed and resolution of the problem. There was a pause and she said something to the effect that, isn’t that the normal way to do business?
Old fashioned customer service is alive and well in some companies.
Cheers
Peter

You hear a lot of bad customer service stories but you rarely hear the good ones. I think most outfits shoot for good service, but it's a shame that the one clinker you might get in an organization can tarnish the whole lot. I to have had good experiences from amazon. They send me e-mail flyers all the time for wood working books, that I'm acutally interested in. Almost makes you look over the sholder!
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Oh, sorry. I was not that clear. The good service I was referring to was the manufacturer. I was talking to the folks who make the stuff.Cheers,Peter
