Has anyone else experienced that same incompetence that I have in dealing with customer services? In spite of having a sub expiring in 2022 I had to pay to download the Nov/Dec 2020. Three different replies from customer services to ONE email from me: your sub expires in Oct 2022; your sub expired in 2003; we can find no record of your sub, please provide [here a long list of the info they require]. A further email asking them to refund the $9+ paid for the Nov/Dec issue was answered: at your request we are cancelling your subscription and will transfer the $84 to your account. You really couldn’t make this level of incompetence up. Of greater worry is that despite copying this ridiculous correspondence to the editorial email address, I have not even received an acknowledgement. After 20+ years of subscribing I am giving up on FWW.

Yes, my experiences with customer service are similar...complete incompetence. And their on-line "manage account" is a joke. I've tried 3 times to cancel my subscription which requires going through a ridiculous series of screens only to be told at the end "Your order cannot be completed at this time. Try again later."
The quality of the product has gone downhill....shallow articles, the featured projects are old and tired with too much emphasis on hand tools. The project drawings are mostly useless. Their project library is a joke and doesn't contain much of what they claim can be found there.
This is an example of a once proud business that has gone to shambles and is attempting to live off its reputation. I'm done with it.
Did you download the Nov/Dec 2020 back issue from the TAUNTON STORE website?
It's been my experience that the Taunton Store doesn't know who is (or isn't) a subscriber to Fine Woodworking or Fine Homebuilding or Fine Gardening, or any of their magazines. If you purchase through the store, you pay full price regardless.
Unlimited subscribers can read all the FWW back issues as long as you stay on the Fine WoodWorking website.
It's confusing, I know. Especially since we are required to switch over to the Taunton website for customer service questions.
Mike
You'll need to email customer service or call them.
