hi,
is there an easy way to cut a thin slit in a dowel from one end to 3/4 of the way to the other end?? i’m trying to make a frame to stretch fabric. the fabric goes thru the slit at the top and bottom of the fabric and is wrapped around the dowel to provide tension on the fabric…just like in a cross stitch frame.
i saw the recent article about routing a groove in a dowel but need the slit about 1/16″ or thinner and all the way thru.
thanks

Sorry to be so slow on this. One last question and I promise I''ll give you a suggestion right away, if you haven't already found a solution. How long is the dowel and what is its diameter?John W.
