Cutter Options–Half-Blind Dovetail Jigs
Dedicated Half-Blind dovetail jigs are easy to setup and use. However, the 1/2″ 14 degree cutter included or specified for these jigs produces a rather bland looking joint.
Did you know that you can substitute other cutters to produce a far more aesthetically-pleasing looking joint? For instance, a 1/2″ 8 degree cutter makes a joint that rivals hand-cut dovetails.

Great tip, I figured the smae thing a little while back and so I did some tests with my leigh jig. They turned out great, and with the variable spacing it can get really hard to tell if they are machine cut or not.
Just to add another tip, carbide endmills make great routerbits. I hardly get any blowout when routing the pins in my jig, and they're also great for clearing out the waste before routing the tails. The best part is that they're cheaper than the spiral woodcutting bits.
