Hi,
I am building a small greenhouse and need help figuring out how to cut the rafters. I’m pretty sure I have to cut both ends at a 30 degree angle. The width of the mini greenhouse = 30 1/2 inches So I’m looking at a equilateral triangle meaining all sides are equal… I already have the ridge board in place. So 1/2 of 30 1/2 = 15 1/4…. that should be the correct length of each rafter. Each end being cut at a 30º angle.
I will attach a picture of this mini greenhouse to give you a better idea of what I’m trying to explain.

Unless I'm just misunderstanding what you're saying, the rafters will have to be 30.5" minus the ridge board. If you want to create an equilateral and the bottom leg is 30.5" the other two legs have to be 30.5" as well.

Unless I misunderstand, the ridge beam ( plum cut ) is cut to 30° and the top of the wall rafter ( run ) is cut to 60°
When you add those to angles together they must equal 90°
Now if you wanted the glass to be 30° off horizontal (the run) then reverse the two cuts.
The ridge beam (plum cut) is 60° and the top of the wall, rafter (run) cut is 30°
