Hello,
Recently purchased 12 old ivory piano keys on ebay. Trying to cut double sided triangles with little success. Any help will be appreciated. My search of Fine Woodworking was not successful, but, then again, I am not very good at searching data bases. Best regards–Ken Kline

Ken,
I don't know what you mean by double sided triangles. Mine, sadly, all have three sides. But what I think you can do with this ivory is to use a birds mouth which is a jeweler's device and a jewelers saw to cut this stuff.
Make a birds mouth from a piece of 1" stock x 3 x 12" long. Cut a long notch into one end of it on the band saw, sort of a v shape. Then clamp the other end to the bench with the notch left protruding over your bench top. A jewelers saw looks very much like a coping saw only smaller. Get a fine toothed blade, ask your jeweler or a findings shop for what size teeth and arrange the blade so that you can cut down into the birds mouth.
I think you can get pretty good results this way but you'll probably have to sand or file the triangles to final shape. Be careful of the ivory dust. Wear a mask. Good luck. Gary
