I am helping a friend put together an easel/art stand for his grandson for Christmas. The plan calls for two sheets of melamine faced fiberboard for the easel faces (two large flat surfaces on either side of the easel). Last night I found a large white erase-board at a thrift store for $20.00 and thought that might be better than the melamine since it would provide an actual surface you could draw on and erase. (You can’t use melamine as a dry erase surface can you?)
Anyway, how would I go about cutting the whiteboard material? What is white board made of? What kind of blade do I need to have? Can I use a jig saw or a circular saw to cut it?

Who knows what a manufacturer made it from??
Score a line with a sharp knife to help preventing chipping.. Put some masking tape down.. RUB REALLY hard to make sure it is tight to the surface..
Pencil the lines and cut away on your TS or whatever..
Should be OK.. Unless it is slate!
I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that the "white board" you are referring too is tempered masonite with white sheet vinyl melamine applied to the surface. Just make sure when you run it thru the TS, the money side is up, because no man knows what the down side will do. Should cut just fine.
Geeee I forgot about that.. THANKS..
