I intend to install a fixed cyclone system in my shop. I can purchase a used Oneida with a bag filter for about 1/2 the cost of new. The size will be what Oneida now calls the “V” series. Does anyone have any experience or recommendation, especially on the filter vs the bag – in terms of health safety and capacity?

If you check the current specs on the currnet V series you will see the the filter efficiency is in the .2-2.0 micron size. A felt bag will never achieve this level of efficiency. Ask Oneida what the cost to install a cartridge would be for the unit you are looking at. A new cyclone may be a better buy.
