Years ago I bought a Sears 932176 dado kit and used it very briefly on a radial arm saw, after which the saw no longer started. I have now bought a Ryobi BTS20 portable table saw and need to make some dado cuts. The dado is rated for the motor speed of the saw and of course is the right arbor size. I was hoping to avoid the expense of buying another dado. Would you use the old one or not?

Use it, if your new saw's manual says you can use a dado set of that outside diameter on your saw. Most lightweight 10" saws specify that the dado set be no larger than 8".
The failure of the radial arm saw's motor wasn't related to the use of the dado set, it was probably do to a failed starter switch, a common problem on the Sears saws..
