I have an 8″ Freud dado set that is about 2 years old and needs sharpening. Where do you get yours sharpened. A local sharpening source in northern Ohio quoted me $58.00 but after talking to several people they said they were not happy with the job they did. Is there one good source out there that specializes in doing dado sets? Also what is a typical cost to sharpen.

I live in Mass and I ship my blades to be sharpened (and router bits) to NY.
I tried local people with nightmarish results, you may want to call Quality Saw 800/ 662 SAWS, they are quick and very professional.

How about the very obvious... What does Freud charge to sharpen the set?? They do a great job and you know they will be up to 'factory specs.' SawdustSteve
As far as I know Freud doesn't sharpen. I've been recommended to use Ballew Saw and Tool for their blades. Here is their web site. I have not sent a blade in yet, but the authority was reliable.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Just had 6 blades and a CMT dado set sharpened. The company is in Kansas City and has sharpened blades for me multiple times. I highly recommend them. I even use them to sharpen new blades before I use them. The OEM factory sharpening never seem as sharp as a GOOD "resharpened" blade. Maybe it is the difference between mass production and one of a kind sharpening.

They also stock hundreds of blades (new and used), typical names as well as commercial names most people have never heard of, and some planer/joiner blades.
Check them out.
