Can you purchase after-market dado shims? The 6″ stacked dado set I purchased didn’t come with shims. Also, can you use fender washers as shims or are these too thick?
Thanks, Brett

b,
If the washers are an acceptable thickness and flat you could use them . I actually use paper of various thickness as shims . Cut out with a scissors take your time and they can last a lifetime , also playing cards make good shims , shims of various types can be purchased from machinists supply .

Old CD's fit well too.
"Old CD's fit well too.'Finally, a good use for the junk software CD's that come bundled with computers, printers, etc!

Also, the case ( big plastic roundish thing) that bulk recordable CD's sometimes are contained in, makes a great way to store ( read STACK) 4" and 4.5" angle grinder discs and sanding discs.
It has a center post and they stack nicely, then put on the cover.
warning ! I was just warned about using CD's for shims, Ever see a CD shatter ? Not pretty !Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Just keep the saw speed down below 25,000 rpm. As tested on myth busters.
