I am looking for plans for a simple table leaf extension system that I have seen on many danish modern table. the leaf pulls out from under the table at each end with a simple tapered wooden rail that bring the leaf flush with the top. I don’t know the name, which would be helpful, and to prevent two days of re-inventing the wheel, I was looking for some help. I suspect the system is very simple geometrics once you know the secret. any one know of a source or name of this type of leaf extension?

There's an excellent article by Tage Frid in one of the earlier editions of Fine Woodworking. Tells you exactly how to do the geometry of the slides. I built mine from this article about 25 years ago. My prize piece. I used solid walnut so movement has been a bit of a problem. If I had it to do over again, I'd use nice rift-cut plywood for the top.
Good luck!

DESIGNING FOR DINING
Dutch pull-out extends table

This issue is no longer in print. Bummer. And my issue didn't survive the 5 moves I've made since then. :-(
