I finished a table top with Danish oil and shellac. It has two wash coats of shellac. I sanded through the finish in quite a few areas. Can I recoat the top with more oil? Will Danish oil adhere to the shellaced areas? Thanks CM

You said you used shellac and danish oil for the finish. The proper sequence is danish oil first, let it cure for a few days (minimum) followed by the shellac.
Danish oil is designed to penetrate and soak into the wood. It doesn't want to go on top.
If you've sanded through I would suggest recoating with shellac. If it is a table that gets a lot of use, like a dining table, you would be better served using a varnish or urethane for better protection from heat and alcohol.
