I finally get to take a class from David! I always wanted to, but never could make it to the west coast! He’s coming to Saint Louis the 26th & 27th of Jan. I saw it on my Woodcraft flyer that came in the mail today. He is doing marqetry on the 26th. The price was a little steep at $300, but what the heck. The wife said it could be my birthday present! I’m still Pis#$$$ off that they stopped making his show on DIY!
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

I too, really enjoyed his show. I'm sorry to hear it has been discontinued. I would think his workshop would be great and well worth the money!
I did a day of classes with him last month and really had fun. He was at Woodcraft and I signed up for resaw techniques in the am and marquetry in the afternoon. You will have a great time! He is a good teacher and down to earth. My impressions:
1) More laid back than on TV!
2) He is a real craftsman/artist and I came away thinking that I work too fast. Every little detail really matters.
3) I noticed that the brass double square and chisels that he uses on TV are with him. Reminded me to buy quality and keep them sharp!
4) Do not plan on leaving when the class is supposed to end. It will probably start late and go long! Get there early and stake out a seat at the front of the class.
5) He spread yellow glue with his bare fingers (no gloves)!!
