I’ve never used a HVLP spray system before and I’m looking for some advise on models and what to look for. I’ve got 3 main projects I’m looking to use the sprayer on. 1. Painting the house (internal and External), 2. Spray finishing my woodworking projects (mostly furniture), 3. Painting my 72′ Pickup.
I’m leaning toward a turbine system with a non-bleeder gun.

Know zilch about them... But wait there is more..
Over in Breaktime and Knots there's folks there that live and breathe those things.
You should get some good responses in the tools section of each those 2 forums.
Look in the header up top and you'll see the forums listed. Just click on them.
You could also use the search functions in each of the forums. There's lot's threads and disscussions HVLP's.
Good luck and welcome to the mad houses.

I bought a Devilbiss conversion gun several years ago to paint a fence, have been using the same for paint, laquer, poly, as well as House of Color on my restored '68 Triumph. You need a decent compressor with some capacity but this inexpensive gun has been great. Look through the archives and you will find plenty of info. Turbines have a few quirks with the warm air and they are expensive. See if you can rent one to try out.
I have a accuspray. I dont know about painting cars..entirely different trade. But painting houses I would rent a pro quality airless from a paint store(not HD). Spraying w/b finishes Im happy with my accuspray.

I have used a Wagner HVLP conversion gun to paint a house full of new trim and doors with Latex paint, and have had exelent results. It works with a small compressor also. I have not used it on fine woodwork yet, but with the right projector set it should do fine. Oh, by the way, alot of the trim was primeded and painted in place. I got mine from gleempaint.com . I think it is the same as the accuspray unit. Probably would not use it to paint walls and such.
Good luck,

we have a 3 stage Graco, I like it a lot.
Used for spraying stain, laq/poly and enamel.
enamel has to be thinned to work properly.
In my limited expereince you'd be very happy with it for your home projects, I've been told you can spray automotive paint with it, never done it. as for the house, no way, like someone else said, go airless, the HVLP can't handle it no matter what the manufacture will lead you to believe.
