Hello to all… I am looking to make an “in railing” type gate for a typical 2×2 baluster & 2×4 deck painted deck, whats the best? it will need to be about 40″ tall & 32″ wide. thanks!

My rail was just 36" and the gate narrower than yours. I opted to keep the vertical baluster look and use a wire for diagonal bracing. Other options would be diagonal balusters on the gate or a notched "X".
Be sure to allow enough clearance on the latch side to open and close. I beveled the leading edge about 1/4" so the final gap would not have to be too big.
