Hello,
I recently picked up a Delta 18 x 36 drum sander. The original owner did not use it much. The indeed rollers were rusty, so I cleaned them. I find that I have to push against it hard for it to engage the wood. Also, the wood is getting stuck while it’s under the drum. Table belt has good grip to it. Any suggestions on how to remedy this situation? Thanks

I own a Performax but I think the internals are similar.
You've confirmed the conveyor belt is gripping well and not slipping so I'm guessing the pressure rollers are the problem. Either they aren't spinning freely or the up/down mechanism is stuck (or both!)

Thanks Mike. I will take a look at that. I appreciate your reply. Brian
The drum sander is an incredibly useful tool that will have a huge impact in your workflow. It will also open up a bunch of doors for you, especially when it comes to the world of home-sawn veneer. Although they aren't inexpensive, I do consider them to be a worthwhile investment.
