OK, Amazon is selling the Delta 36-731 TS (3hp, right tilt) with the 50″ Unifence for $971 with $99 delivery. This strikes me as an outrageously low price – anyone have a clue if there’s a catch? It seems to be a less common model, though I can’t figure out why. I don’t have room in my current shop for a cabinet saw but I’m sorely tempted to pick this up and store it until the shop grows. Thoughts?

The right tilt may be part of the reason. I think most people prefer left tilt. I know I do - lol.
Usually Amazon will ship at no cost if you aren't in a hurry. My last no-cost shipment took 2 days!
As another said, right-tilt may be the reason. However, if you want a sliding table which attaches on the left, right-tilt is probably preferable. I am going to check this saw out myself.

You are right about the sliding table needing the right tilt saw. Amazing price, the tilt has'nt been a factor in price as recently as the beginning of the year. I wonder what gives.

Dear Red,
To my knowledge (which is limited) this is their "Made in China" line. I don't know how good it is, but Check with Delta and see what they have to say.
Best,
John
