Delta contractor saw rip fence waranty
All:
I have a Delta Contractor table saw that I bought a few years ago- ( serial #03C26052). The rip fence that came with it broke yesterday. I measured off a positiion for the fence and pushed the locking lever and the whole ” T-head” casting fractured.
My question is: The saw came with a two year warranty , which has clearely has expired , but is there a reasonable expectation that the casting should have lasted past the warranty?

Of course it should have lasted beyond the warranty.... unless you dropped it or somehow abused it and only you know that for sure. Call Delta and see what happens. I suspect I know what will, but they are in a position at this moment that they might just spring for a replacement "to save face" as they seem to have lost quite a bit of ground on the market to competitors.
The worst that could happen is for them to say they can't help you which will leave you with what you have now.. a pre-maturely broken piece of Delta machinery and a formed opinion of why you might want to shop elsewhere.
