delta contractor saw riving knife????
hello everyone, i recently received a delta contractor saw from my uncle it is reasonable old and it doesnt have a riving knife/ spliter/ guard! my old saw was a bosch jobsite saw but it is new and has saftey features. i love o have the new saw its accurate and powerful but i am almost scared to use it. the first week i had it i had my first kick back incident ever and thankfully i was using my push sticks or i might not have my hand. well my point it is their a cheep fix to this problem something thats beter then the little plastic micro splitter or the 150$ guard and riving knife kits that seem overly priced. but if its all i can get then id rather have some saftey then no saftey. any cool ideas on how to solve this or any reveiws on store bought guards/spliters/ riving knifes? please help i like my fingers.

Bob Ross at Walnut Acres Woodworking makes an aftermarket riving knife called the BORK (bolt on ripping knife).. You'd need to contact him about whether it would fit your saw.

the bork looks good and its fairly cheep i think ill give them a call and see if they have one for my saw thanks for the tip
In addition, you can get most of the benefits of the riving knive withn an add on splitter such as the Biesemeyer. Finger boards also help tame kickback, and assist in making precision cuts.
thanks for the advise
the only thing is that it costs like 165$ since its not summer i dont have a job to buy it due to school so i think im gona look into the bork but thanks
