I’m still trying get my contractor’s saw tuned and notice that the arbor pulley rubs against the understructure of the table when the blade is raised higher that approximately 2inches. I have loosened the rear trunions and shifted the motor to line the motor pulley up with the arbor pulley but don’t how to adjust the arbor pulley or if it can be adjusted. Does anyone out there have a handle on this. The saw is about 20 years old but not a lot of hours on it. Tonester 56

the rub
You might want to double check the size of the arbor pulley, as well as verifying that you have the correct blade size. My guess would be the previous owner replaced the arbor pulley with what he had on hand.

Ralph: thanks for your reply. i have no prior owner to blame it on. it's all on me but I've never changed the arbor pulley. I think the saw was probably banged around when i moved it from one house to another.

Steve: I think the pulley is now hitting the web stiffner instead of moving up beside it. I will check tonight to see if there is indication that the pulley moved on the shaft. i think it likely that the problem is the with the mounting trunions. the mounting from which the motor hangs seems to be somewhat out of alignment. perhaps the motor and motor mount were banged when the saw was moved pulling the mounts out of alignment?
