Asa Christiana reviewed the new Delta model 20-950 drill press several months ago (video). The machine was due to be available at the end of 2006. It is still not available according to my local distributor and I was wondering if Delta was having problems with the new product that would suggest it may not be a good choice for purchase even when it comes on the market. Any updates available on this new product and what, if any, problems Delta is having with the product?

Delta started to move their production to Asia a few years ago which created problems and they were recently bought by Black and Decker which has led to some turmoil in the company.
It isn't clear how all of this is affecting the quality of their products, but it probably isn't helping. I don't know anything specific about the availability of their new drill press but unless it has special features not available anywhere else, you would probably be satisfied with a tool from another manufacturer.
