I have received an old Delta Rockwell 6″ jointer from a friend who was cleaning out his father’s shop. It has a cast iron base with the belt set vertically in the back. The infeed and outfeed tables are adjusted by cranks under each table. His dad painted the base a bright green, so I don’t know if he painted over the model # or not. I have the serial #, but I don’t have the model # or any manuals. Any ideas about where to find a manual?
Thanks

Red -- potentially that is a great machine. I had a four-inch model and it was dead-on accurate, easy to register at 90 and 45 degrees and parallel tables. I gave it to my son (who is a builder) and he's used it for years. Congratulations!
Go to the Old Woodworking Machines website, at http://www.owwm.com/. There are a lot of old owner's manuals and parts lists posted there, along with a ton of other useful information.
Knowing the serial number is a big help - go to the Delta website - they have a lookup for machines - don't recall if it is by serial or not; if not, they have an 800 number listed and you can give them the serial and they will tell you the model and when it was made and then you can download of the web manuals and parts lits.
