Does anyone know how to date a Delta table saw by the serial number. It is a
34-457 and the serial number is 89E25157. I bought the unit for a great price form the high school that I used to attend 10 years ago. I am not 100 percent sure if this is the same one we had in shop class or not. If it is I know it is at least 10 years old. It is in great shape and cuts like a champ after I gave it some TLC.

I found that if you call the Delta 800 customer service line they can give you the date and year your saw was mfd. I was able to get this info foe a Delta Unisaw that was mfd in 1958. Good luck to you in your search.

I called Delta about my saw because I also bought it used. They asked for my serial number only and were able to tell me. If I remember correctly, they told me the first two numbers of the serial number is the year it was manufactured. They also told me the month, but did not explain if that was also part of the serial number. So looking at yours, I would say it was manufactured in 1989. Try calling them at the 800 number listed on their website and they can tell you for sure.
