While searching in my shop for some buried boards , I stumbled across a #34-172 H D tenoning jig. which I have never used. I wonder if Delta still makes this or only makes the one made across the ocean. Also wonder what it would be worth. Still in orig box. Just curious.

Delta doesn't make this model anymore and you can get a premium price for it. It took me about 30 seconds to look it up on ebay. Good luck.
The product description I just read says this thing works on right-tilting Delta saws. Does this mean it won't work with the newer left-tilting models?
Woodman,
I have an old one. It is a very nice tool. If I were you, I wouldn't sell it unless I REALLY needed the money. I have seen them go for well over $300. In the original box, it would bring more.
Will it work on the newer saws? Yes, but it makes a loud noise when the spinning blade hits the metal on the tenoning jig. :-)
This tool is so beautiful, that if I had a new one, like yours, I would try to talk my wife into using it as a centerpiece on the dining room table.
If you really want to sell it, go to the following website:

It is for afficianados of old woodworking tools and machines. Announcing that you have a "new" 34-172 for sale will cause a stampede!
Have fun. Let me know if my info helps. I sure am jealous.
Would you be willing to adopt me? I'd like to inherit that thing.
Enjoy,
Mel

Thanks for the reply. I will try and convince my wife to let me put in the center of our dining room table. I'm sure that would go over as well as my idea to build my own coffin.. Where to store it until I need it. I might be pushing my luck. Yes you are right it is a nice piece of fine tooling. A side bar , where in Va. do you live? I have a daughter that lives in Leesburg. Just curious.
Thanks again
Woodmann,
Thanks for the nice response. You asked where I live. I live in Burke, VA, which is only about a half hour from Leesburg. My wife and I have been here since 1979. We were in Waterford, VA, near Leesburg last weekend. It is an old village which in which the homes are kept in as original shape as possible. The homes are individually owned. Have never seen anything like it in the US. Magnificent. Every year since 1943, the town has had an arts and crafts festival. About 160 sellers, and all are HIGHLY selected. Only the best of the best. Must have been about 20 woodworkers. Magnificent furniture for sale. Great day. Didn't buy any furniture though. :-)Whenever you plan to visit your daughter, please send me a message. Mary Beth and I would be happy to have you and your brood over to our place and burn some burgers, and we can swap some woodworking lies. Maybe I can convince your wife to keep the tenoning jig. Send a message to me, using the "reply via email" selection, and I will send you a photo of my Delta Tenoning Jig, which I have reconditioned.Enjoy.
Mel
