I recently purchased a used delta tilting spindle / sliding table shaper model 43-450. The plate says manufactured in France 12/1994. It had a couple of problems – I was able to clean the contacts in the motor starter and get that working, but the motor mounting bracket has a break in it, so I need a replacement. Does anyone know who manufactured these for delta? I haven’t been able to locate the part thru the delta dealer; I’m hoping I might get it from the manufacturer. I might be able to weld it, but a new part might be easier. I searched the web and found a parts breakdown, but nothing further.
Thanks,
Bob

Have you tried ServiceNet? http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/ServiceNet/Logon.asp
Just for grins I plugged your machine in and it came up. You can try ordering the part from the website. Don't know if the part is still available but it might be worth a try. One note- they're upgrading the website starting tomorrow ............ it may be dysfunctional for a week or so.
Thanks, i appreciate the suggestion. I have been down that road, they have the parts breakdown but no parts. I found one listed through a parts website for $500, but they didn't respond to my email and no phone # to call.
I think a brace is going to have to be added for strength, but I haven't taken it apart yet, and it looks like a brace will interfere with the adjustment of the motor position/ belt tension.
I think the machine was made by Kity in France, I found a picture of a model 1629 that looks identical except for the fence. I've emailed them, waiting on a response.
Anyone familiar with the Kity machines? It looks like the company was shut down/bought out by an English company a couple of years ago.
Thanks,
Bob
Linvincible made equipment for Delta years ago. 1994 seems kind of odd. 70's was more like the time. You can make or fix that bracket quicker than getting a new part. We have soem Griggio equipment and it's far simpler to wing it than get original parts from the manufacturer and cheaper as well.
